Market Analyst for Power Trading & Business Development

Description

Do you want to work close to the business in a rapidly changing electricity market while simultaneously helping to shape future energy solutions? At Karlstads Energi, you will have a key role where analysis, business, and customer value meet. We are looking for a development-driven and customer-focused Market Analyst to work towards production and ancillary services for the Business Development & Power Trading unit. You belong to the Power Trading group and work in close interaction with power traders, business developers, and other analysts.

In this role, you are right in the heart of our commercial electricity business. You combine market analysis with active responsibility in the business and contribute to both daily decisions and long-term development. You work on optimizing our assets within solar power and battery storage, as well as developing and strengthening our participation in ancillary service markets.

At the same time, you are a key link to our customers and partners. You create understanding of the market, build trust, and identify new business opportunities. Together with business development, you drive the work to further develop Karlstads Energi's electricity trading business and future business models in a market with a high pace of change.

Responsibilities

In your role, you continuously analyze the development of the electricity market and translate insights into concrete business decisions, where pricing, forecasts, and decision support are central components. You have operational responsibility for planning, executing, and following up on the company's participation in ancillary service markets, as well as optimizing production and flexibility in our solar parks and battery storage.

The work also involves handling electricity contracts and related pricing, as well as managing dialogue and agreements related to customers, subcontractors, and partners within the ancillary service business. You are a natural contact point in questions regarding participation in these markets and contribute to making complex connections understandable and commercially viable. In parallel, you work closely with the company's business developers to identify, evaluate, and realize new business opportunities within electricity trading. As needed, you also contribute to the settlement work of the electricity trading operations and represent the company in industry forums and development initiatives.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have strong analytical skills and a clear business drive, and who thrive in a role where you get to combine structure with development. You have a genuine interest in the electricity market and are motivated by turning analysis into business value, while also having a natural customer focus and a good ability to build relationships.

You have a relevant academic education in areas such as energy, economics, or engineering, and experience working with electricity market analysis, power trading, or energy-related business development. You have a good understanding of the electricity market's function, and it is an advantage if you have knowledge of ancillary service markets, flexibility solutions, or energy storage.

You are accustomed to communicating complex connections in a clear and trustworthy manner, both internally and externally, and you express yourself fluently in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.
