Tired of workshops where troubleshooting means “swap parts and hope”?

At Bilsmidigt, we are building our first workshop – and we are looking for you who thrive on complex faults, intermittent problems, electrical/communication issues, and smart troubleshooting methodologies.

This is a role for you who wants ownership, the right conditions, and the mandate to perform real diagnostics, with a clear impact on how the workshop operates.

The role in brief

You will become our key person for diagnostics and advanced troubleshooting. You will work with passenger cars and vans of many makes/models and help us build a working method where we:

• find the root cause faster
• reduce guesswork replacements

Examples of what you will do

• Advanced troubleshooting: intermittent faults, error codes that “come back”, customer complaints without a clear cause
• Electrical systems/communication: CAN/LIN, voltage drops, ground faults, cable breaks, parasitic currents
• Measurement and methodology: multimeter, oscilloscope, clamp meter, signal analysis, test plans
• Programming/coding/calibration (depending on make): sensors, modules, adaptations, learnings, ADAS-related when relevant
• Support to the team: being the one who solves the difficult cases and raises the level of the entire workshop

Who we think you are

You are not just a “skilled mechanic” – you are a diagnostician.

You identify with several of these:

• You troubleshoot through hypothesis → measurement → verification, not guessing
• You really know electricity and electronics (not just “reading error codes”)
• You find it fun when others give up
• You like to document and build systems that make the workshop better over time

Meritorious (not required):

• Experience with OEM tools / advanced diagnostic systems
• Experience from brand workshops, auto electrician roles, tuning/ECU, or advanced troubleshooting environments
• English is sufficient – Swedish is not a must if you are the right person

Requirements:

• Relevant experience in diagnostics/troubleshooting
• Category B driver’s license

Bilsmidigt AB is a rapidly growing digital car company where customers buy the car online with home delivery. We are now building our first workshop in Upplands Väsby and want to do it right from the start – with quality, structure, and a diagnostic focus that stands out.
