Your responsibilities

As an Aeronautical Technician/Instructor at Aviation Technical Training, you are a vocational teacher in aeronautics, which involves creating lessons and teaching materials. You provide theoretical and practical training in aeronautical subjects for both high school mechanics and post-secondary technician education. You teach high school students and vocational college students in core subjects and act as an instructor during the internal internship.

The education takes place at Aviation Technical Training's premises on Malmen outside of Linköping. Together with your colleagues, you work towards an efficient organization and the development of the business. We actively work with digitalization and modern teaching methods where every student has their own Chromebook.

Your workplace

Aviation Technical Training is part of Anders Ljungstedt's Gymnasium (https://www.linkoping.se/forskola-och-utbildning/gymnasieskola/kommunala-gymnasieskolor/anders-ljungstedts-gymnasium/om-anders-ljungstedts-gymnasium/), which is a large school with over 1,200 students and 220 employees. On this unit, 13 skilled colleagues work in the field of aeronautics. The education is conducted at ALG's premises on Malmen outside of Linköping. Here we have good cohesion, and both colleagues and students have a high level of engagement and interest in aeronautics.

Organizationally, ALG consists of five principal areas with close cooperation in matters that create synergies in the business. The school offers certified vocational education within a large number of national high school programs. Students are trained for professions such as hairdresser, electrician, or childcare worker. The school also has an adapted high school with five different directions, introductory programs for students who lack eligibility for a national high school program, adult education, and vocational college education. Our commitment lies in creating a school where students develop to the maximum extent based on their own prerequisites. High goal fulfillment and employability are the school's goals.

You who apply

We are looking for you who either have practical experience from aircraft maintenance or alternatively maintenance work on other types of vehicles. If you have experience in educational activities and/or teaching qualifications, it is meritorious. You would like to share your knowledge within technology and mechanics and want to learn new things and develop in your professional role yourself.

We would like you to have an aeronautical education or comparable military education, or alternatively another technical education that the employer deems suitable, for example, aircraft mechanic or vehicle technician/mechanic. It is meritorious if you are a trained vocational teacher or hold relevant certificates within Part 66. Since the teaching materials and guidelines are in both Swedish and English, it is a requirement that you fluently master both languages in both speech and writing.

As a person, you find it easy to cooperate and build relationships with students as well as your colleagues and other collaboration partners. You plan and coordinate your work and teaching to achieve set goals and conduct the business according to established guidelines. Your pedagogical and communicative skills are good, and you communicate in a clear and pedagogical way that is easy for others to understand. Furthermore, you are stable and confident in yourself. You are engaged and want to share your knowledge, as well as wanting to develop yourself in your professional role.

Since this is a vocational education, no teaching qualification is required. For those who wish to obtain qualifications, we offer a qualification-providing education for vocational teachers to study during your working hours.
