Medborgarhuset in Säffle is Säffle Municipality's arena for culture, meetings, and experiences. Here, theater, concerts, dance, conferences, fairs, and larger events are held. During the autumn season, operations are at their most intensive, notably in connection with Säffle Opera performances where dinners are served to between 200–300 guests. The season often ends with appreciated Christmas buffets for larger groups. We are a constantly developing operation with an engaged and cohesive team within the kitchen, service, and event organization.

For the autumn, Medborgarhuset in Säffle is looking for a cook. The position is a seasonal employment, with the possibility of extension and eventually permanent employment based on operational needs and individual suitability. Working hours are irregular and adjusted according to the booking schedule, with work primarily during evenings and weekends, as well as some day and evening events.

Responsibilities

As a cook with us, you work with cooking for both smaller and larger groups, up to approximately 300 people. The duties include, among other things:

• Cooking for pre-booked events such as theater buffets, conferences, fairs, dinners, and Christmas buffets
• Baking of coffee breads
• Planning, preparation, and organization of kitchen work
• Calculation of portions and cost-conscious menu planning
• Purchasing and receiving goods
• Temperature controls, food safety, and hygiene work
• Contribute to the development of menus, buffets, baked goods, and break sales

The role may also include tasks within the bar, service, and cash register, depending on operational needs and your strengths. We work together and support each other in daily work.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who:

• Are a trained cook
• Have a few years of experience in the profession
• Have good knowledge of food hygiene and food safety
• Have experience in planning and structured kitchen work
