About the workplace
Ersta Elderly Care is part of Ersta Diaconia and operates a total of nine elderly care facilities in Stockholm and Uppsala. Our goal is to provide our residents with a secure and enriching daily life, featuring activities, community, and pleasant, enjoyable meals. At our facilities, everyone should feel at home!
In November 2026, Miriamhemmet, a completely new care and support residence within Ersta Diaconia, will open in the new Tenstaterrassen area. Miriamhemmet will comprise 80 modern apartments distributed across eight units and six floors, featuring bright communal areas, balconies on each unit, and a large green roof terrace. The residence will be adapted for both somatic and cognitive conditions.
Starting a new elderly care facility means that we are building work methods, routines, and culture from the ground up together. This gives you a unique opportunity to influence how we work and help create a meaningful daily life for the residents – right from the start.
As an employee, we offer a range of benefits that we hope will provide you with the conditions to enjoy your work and have a rewarding free time.
About the role
As a physiotherapist here, you will become an important part of our multidisciplinary team, working alongside occupational therapists, activity coordinators, nursing assistants, nurses, and doctors. Together, we work based on a function-preserving approach – focusing on strengthening each individual's abilities, participation, and quality of life.
You are responsible for assessing, planning, and following up on physiotherapeutic interventions and serve as a key support for both residents and colleagues. Your duties include, among other things:
- Assessing mobility and transfer abilities and creating individual plans
- Mentoring and educating care staff in ergonomics and transfer techniques
- Prescribing, fitting, and following up on assistive devices
- Working with fall prevention and measures
- Planning and leading physical training and activities, both individually and in groups
- Contributing to the development of work methods and quality in the operations.
You work both independently and in close collaboration with other professions. You are part of the local management group, participate in the facility's improvement council, and attend team meetings on the units.
In the startup phase, you play a crucial role in establishing structures and work methods. You combine your clinical responsibilities with contributing to the team's development.
The work is scheduled on weekdays during daytime hours.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who wants to help build something new and is driven by the desire to make an impact. You thrive in a changing environment, are flexible, and take initiative.
You are confident in your professional role and motivated by making a difference in people's daily lives. With a pedagogical approach, you are eager to share your knowledge and adapt your mentoring to the recipient.
You work in a structured manner, see opportunities rather than obstacles, and have a natural focus on quality. You collaborate well with other professions, contribute to good dialogue, and take responsibility for the holistic care of the resident.
Above all, you have a warm and respectful attitude – towards both residents and colleagues – and share our value system of seeing the whole person. At our facilities, professionalism, trust, and hope are united in everything we do.
Your experience
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a licensed physiotherapist
- Has at least a couple of years of experience in the profession
- Has good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written
- Has good computer skills.
