Your tasks will primarily consist of patient-centered work in close collaboration with doctors, nurses, and other professions, such as medication reviews, patient consultations, and patient schools. We have assignments in both psychiatry and somatic care, as well as in primary care. Therapy group work, training for healthcare staff, and quality and patient safety work may also be relevant.

About you

We are looking for a licensed pharmacist or licensed dispensing pharmacist with a Master of Pharmacy degree. We prefer that you have a Master's degree in clinical pharmacy or experience working with clinical pharmacy, but this is not a requirement to apply.

As a person, you find it easy to communicate and build contacts. You are good at sorting and absorbing information, as well as conveying it in a pedagogical way. You need to have a good ability to adapt the level of your communication and information, as the recipient may be either a patient or specialized healthcare personnel. You are also used to taking your own initiatives and view prioritization between different areas as a natural part of the work. You have a good ability to work independently but also in teams with several different professions. We place great importance on personal qualities.

The Medicines Section deals with medication issues throughout the county and has a holistic approach to everything concerning medicines. Pharmacists and dispensing pharmacists are in-demand professions in our region and are seen as an integral part of teamwork for patient-safe and cost-effective medication use. We have a well-functioning operation where our assignments are constantly developing. Patient-centered work is currently carried out primarily in geriatrics, psychiatry, medicine, orthopedics, surgery, and primary care. We have operations in inpatient departments but also extensive experience with outpatient services. For a few years now, we have had pharmacists working at some of the county's health centers. We also conduct research in clinical pharmacy in collaboration with several different universities.

Both primary care and hospitals show good results in our region, and healthcare enjoys high trust among the inhabitants. Being the best hospital in its respective class and scoring high in the AT ranking has been a recurring theme. Region Kalmar County's emergency departments receive the highest ratings in the national patient survey, with Västervik topping the list among them.
