Ljusdal Municipality is now seeking a librarian for a permanent position. The position is full-time; 50% as a school librarian at Stenhamre School (grades 7-9), and 50% as a school library developer.

The school library's activities are regulated by the Education Act, where the school library's mission is to promote students' reading and media and information literacy. The library is located in the Life Environment Sector, one of four sectors in Ljusdal Municipality.

Responsibilities

At Stenhamre Library, you will be one of two librarians, with your primary responsibility being to work with students and teachers in grades 7-9. Your colleague has main responsibility for grades F-6. Together, you manage the library's media and ensure that the school library is an open and welcoming space for everyone. Within the framework of the school library activities, you will receive classes in the library and meet students in the classroom. You are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating reading promotion activities and activities that promote students' M&I literacy (MIK).

In the school library, you will meet many people daily; school students of various ages and teachers, so you need to be able to create and maintain good and trusting relationships. You are imaginative and creative and find it easy to collaborate both internally and externally.

In the second part of your job, you will work to develop and coordinate the municipality's school library activities. In this work, you will collaborate with both teachers and colleagues at the other school libraries in the municipality. To succeed in this role, you need to be curious, attentive, and structured.

Qualifications

You have a degree in library and information science or another education that the employer considers equivalent.

We prefer that you have a few years of experience in library work. Experience of working as a school librarian is an extra merit. You are attentive and curious and find it easy to collaborate with others. You listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts in a constructive manner. You find it easy to interact with people and enjoy a varied workday. Being stable and resilient is important for the role. A probationary period may apply.
