Job Description

AFRY Advanced Automation in Borlänge is part of AFRY's initiative to deliver innovative and sustainable automation solutions to industry. We work closely with our customers to create efficient, safe, and future-proof systems that contribute to increased productivity and reduced environmental impact. Our team consists of engaged specialists in automation, electrical design, mechanical design, and project management, offering a dynamic work environment where competence development and collaboration are central.

In the role of Senior Electrical Designer, you will take overall responsibility for electrical design in our projects, from concept phase to final delivery. You will become a key person in the project team, working to develop and quality-assure solutions that meet customer requirements and industry standards. In addition to technical responsibility, you will also function as a sub-project manager, which means you will plan, coordinate, and follow up on work within your area. You will have close contact with both internal and external stakeholders, ensure that schedules and budgets are kept, and contribute to delivering the project with high quality. The role combines technical expertise with leadership and communication, giving you the opportunity to influence both details and the big picture in our projects.

We are looking for someone with extensive experience in electrical design for industrial assignments and who is accustomed to working with various design tools and relevant standards. You have experience in project management or sub-project management and enjoy taking responsibility, driving work forward, and creating structure. Your communication skills and interest in collaboration make you a perfect fit for our team. Requirements

Work Experience:

• More than 5 years of relevant experience in electrical design within industrial process or production facilities

Knowledge/Education:

• Relevant formal education in electrical engineering, electrical design, or electrical power, or equivalent practical experience
• Good knowledge of documentation tools and the ability to handle and understand different customers' requirement profiles and documentation systems

Languages:

• Swedish and English, spoken and written

Merits

Work Experience:

• Accustomed to working in project form, preferably in a leading role within industrial projects
• Experience in delegating tasks to younger colleagues in the project team
• Experience with automation projects linked to industrial drive systems
• Process experience from the steel and engineering industries as well as energy production

Education:

• Engineering education in electrical engineering, electrical design, or electrical power with an industrial focus
