Part-time Substitute Wanted for the Art Hall in Luleå

The Art Hall in Luleå is seeking a part-time substitute who wants to work in a public and artistic environment where contemporary art, learning, and creation meet. We are looking for someone who wants to contribute to making the Art Hall an open and inviting place for all our visitors – from casual spontaneous visits to larger programs and educational activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a part-time substitute, you will work as needed, primarily covering for regular staff absences, as well as during events, exhibitions, and periods of high visitor traffic. Working hours may include daytime, evenings, and weekends.

The role includes:

• Staffing the Art Hall and providing professional service to visitors
• Informing about current exhibitions, artists, and program activities
• Conducting guided tours for both the general public and groups
• Leading workshops and creative activities in the Art Lab, planned by our regular art educators based on current exhibitions and adapted for different target groups
• Assisting at events such as vernissages, programs, lectures, and other public arrangements
• Overseeing exhibition spaces and ensuring that artworks and the environment are handled according to established routines
• Contributing to a safe, welcoming, and inspiring experience for our visitors

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a high school diploma
• Can communicate with visitors in both Swedish and English
• Has the flexibility to step in with short notice when needed

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience in educational work, workshop facilitation, or work within the culture and museum sector
• Ongoing studies or completed education in art, pedagogy, culture, design, or a similar field

To succeed and thrive in this role, you need an interest in art, culture, and working in a public-facing environment. Working at the Art Hall requires a good ability to communicate and interact with different target groups. You need to feel comfortable leading groups and conducting tours and workshops. It is important that you are service-oriented, responsible, and able to work independently.
