Head of New Unit within Legal Affairs – Lantmäteriet

The joint agency operational area consists of supporting and steering units that assist Lantmäteriet's other operational areas. Here, you help ensure that everyday operations run smoothly! RESPONSIBILITIES
Are you interested in leadership and operational development? Do you have the ability to create engagement and enthusiasm by involving both employees and managers to build trusting relationships? Then you now have the opportunity to apply for a position as head of a newly formed unit within the Legal Affairs operational area. The unit has broad responsibility for all cross-agency legal areas. Within the unit, tasks include legal support to the agency leadership, the agency's compilation of regulations, compensation cases, supervisory activities, and whistleblower functions. As unit head, you have budget and operational responsibility as well as personnel responsibility for the unit's employees. Your leadership style is close, communicative, and coaching. Since the unit is newly formed, you need a strong interest in developing the operations together with employees and colleagues. Through this, you create engagement and conditions for employees to achieve good results together. Your role includes leading the unit's change work and, for example, implementing new ways of working and processes.
You are part of the operational area's management group, which consists of four other unit heads and the operational area manager, who is also the agency's chief legal counsel. Together, we create conditions for uniform and effective application of law within the agency. We achieve results together, and you are an important part of the team.
The operational area's employees are located in different parts of the country. The work location is flexible within Stockholm, Uppsala, and other offices near the Gävle region, but with a need for regular presence at the Gävle office.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with extensive experience of leadership in the role of manager over qualified employees. You have experience of working in a management group as well as change management and development work. The newly formed unit will consist of employees from different parts of the organization, and you need well-documented experience and a good ability to create well-functioning teams.
You hold a law degree (Juristexamen) or a degree in jurisprudence (Juris kandidatexamen) from the law program with several years of experience of qualified legal work within the state and very good knowledge of administrative law. You have very good communication skills, both orally and in writing, in Swedish and English.
It is an advantage if you have completed notarial service or have other experience considered equivalent, experience of leading remotely, and experience of working with strategic issues.

The position is security classified, which means you must be a Swedish citizen and a passed security check is a prerequisite for employment. Probationary employment applies.
