About Timber Measurement

Timber measurement is Biometria's largest operational area, employing approximately 580 staff members across 22 districts. Our mission is to conduct impartial measurements of timber flowing between the forest and the industry, ensuring that all Swedish forest owners feel secure in their timber transactions. We are present at sawmills, pulp industries, energy plants, timber terminals, and at our remote measurement offices, which are staffed by our own personnel. We handle the measurement of logs, stacks, chips, and other assortments found at our customer sites. The timber measurement department is led by a department manager, four regional managers, and an operations coordinator.

Region North

The region consists of 6 districts stretching from Söderhamn in the south to Kalix in the north. The North leadership group comprises six district managers and the regional manager. Together, we form a broad collection of experienced managers with diverse strengths and backgrounds that build engagement for the future of our operations. We are therefore looking for you to become a complementary link in this leadership team.

Job Description

The Söderhamn district currently consists of 10 measurement sites with approximately 20 employees. As a district manager, you will be based at your own home, meaning you must reside within the district's area. You hold primary responsibility for personnel and operations within your district. Your duties include:

• Leading and allocating work.
• Ensuring daily operations at measurement sites within the district.
• Responsibility for measurement quality.
• Personnel and work environment responsibility for all measuring staff within the district.
• Result responsibility. Contact with the district's customers and member companies.
• Communication within the district to staff, customers, and other partners.
• Recruitment.
• Employee and salary discussions, including individual follow-ups.

We are looking for you who

We are looking for someone who wants and can lead personnel remotely. You thrive in a coaching role and are inspired by working towards clear goals. You are customer-oriented and understand and can deliver what is valuable to the customer. Furthermore, you are a flexible problem solver who has no trouble re-planning and is clear in your communication. You have at least a high school education. We place great importance on your personal qualities and that you, regardless of gender or origin, complement our organization.

Since we work together across district boundaries regarding staffing, recruitment, and training, we also see that you are a driven team player motivated to develop and uplift your colleagues. You are an experienced computer user and have no problem learning new system supports.

Finally, a Class B driver's license is a prerequisite and thus a requirement, as business travel is part of the role.

Desirable/Merits

We would appreciate if you have an interest in forestry. Since the role involves personnel responsibility, we also prefer that you have previous experience of leading others.
