About the Job
As Department Manager for cleaning and operational custodial services, you have overall responsibility for leading, directing, and developing operations in the municipality's premises, primarily within schools, preschools, and other operational properties. The assignment includes both cleaning and operational services performed by operational custodians and is crucial for creating safe, functional, and well-functioning environments for the municipality's operations.
You are part of the Operations and Service Administration's management group and have a clear strategic assignment to contribute to the administration's collective governance, development, and change management.
In the role of Department Manager, you are responsible for:
• Leading and developing operations based on political goals, assignments, and given financial frameworks
• Having responsibility for personnel, work environment, and budget
• Ensuring quality, efficiency, and equivalent service
• Leading and driving change management through a clear and structured process-based approach
• Using digitalization and developed working methods as tools to streamline, ensure quality, and modernize operations
• Working systematically with follow-up, analysis, and continuous improvement
• Ensuring good collaboration with other administrations, managers, and operations
• Actively contributing to the joint development of the Operations and Service Administration within the management group

About You
As a leader, you are confident, clear, and structured with the ability to lead through change. You have a strategic perspective but are simultaneously close to the operations and daily life. You create engagement, build trust, and have the ability to drive development through clear processes, dialogue, and participation. You view digitalization as a natural support in change management and have the ability to translate ideas and decisions into actual benefits for the operations.
Requirements:
• Relevant academic education or other education/experience deemed equivalent by the employer
• Several years of experience in a managerial or leading position
• Documented experience in change management and operational development
• Experience with personnel, work environment, and budget responsibility
• Good understanding of process work and governance in complex organizations
• Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
• Class B driver's license
Merits:
• Experience from public sector or politically governed organizations is an asset
• Experience working within cleaning and/or operational custodial services is an asset
