Maskinring Småland is an economic association with approximately 580 member companies within agriculture, forestry, contracting, and staffing. We function as the rural area's dispatch center and a strong partner for farmers and contractors in Småland and on Öland. Our crisis and emergency operations extend beyond the region in close cooperation with neighboring machine rings. We are certified in quality, working environment, environment, and forestry, ensuring that our operations are conducted with high professionalism, responsibility, and sustainability.

We are now seeking a dynamic and business-oriented Operations Manager, preferably with a good understanding of the green industries, who wants to lead, develop, and strengthen our operations together with an engaged team.

About the position

  • Location: Vetlanda or by agreement

  • Scope: Full-time

  • Working hours: Daytime

  • Employment type: Direct recruitment with a permanent position at Maskinring Småland

As Operations Manager, you have a central and strategic role in developing Maskinring Småland's business areas and ensuring that our member companies receive the best possible support. You work closely with the board, staff, members, and our external partners. The role combines daily operational work, leadership, and strategic development work, offering excellent development opportunities for the right person.

The organization currently employs 4 full-time staff members, where each role is crucial for the success of the operations.

Your main responsibilities:

Business Development

  • Independently and together with the team, develop both existing and new business areas within agriculture, forestry, contracting, and staffing.

  • Drive initiatives that strengthen the competitiveness of member companies and create growth for the association.

Operations Management

  • Ensure efficient operations, resource planning, and coordination of machinery, personnel, and contractors.

  • Work with budgeting, operational planning, and follow-up, as well as ensuring quality in administrative systems such as Office 365 and CRM.

Procurement

  • Experience in interpreting and understanding public and private sector tenders, as well as preparing bids.

Crisis and Emergency Operations

  • Be responsible for mobilizing resources for societal interventions and cooperating with other machine rings when necessary.

Member Contact & Relationship Building

  • Be a clear and trusted contact point for our members.

  • Build long-term relationships and ensure that member needs are met professionally and sustainably.

Personnel Responsibility

  • Lead, develop, and support the staff group.

  • Ensure continuous internal competence development.

About you

We are looking for someone who is confident in their leadership and enjoys a role where you combine strategy with operational work. You find it easy to build trust, create relationships, and communicate clearly. Furthermore, you have a business-oriented and solution-focused approach and thrive in an environment where you can take responsibility and drive development.

You have the ability to:

  • Prioritize effectively

  • Handle multiple parallel workflows

  • Make quick, well-founded decisions – even during periods of high workload

Formal Competence

  • Driver's license & access to a car

  • Relevant post-secondary education, e.g., Master of Agriculture, Master of Forestry, Master of Horticulture, experience in the contracting industry, or equivalent

  • Several years of relevant work experience after completed education

  • Good understanding of – or practical experience from – agriculture, forestry, contracting, or related industries

  • Experience in leadership – both operational and strategic

  • Procurement experience

  • Good digital competence, preferably with experience of Office 365

  • Very good ability to communicate verbally and in writing (Swedish)
