We are currently looking for a Production Manager for a parental leave substitute position within the Forestry business area, based in Skövde. Here, you will become part of a team responsible for the Skaraborg region.
What you will do at SödraAs a Production Manager, you will play a central role in ensuring the timber flow functions smoothly — from the forest to the industry. You will work closely with both colleagues and contractors, holding a key position in planning, directing, and monitoring production within your area. This role offers the opportunity to combine operational work with a long-term focus on development, quality, and profitability for both members and the business.
In this role, you are responsible for ensuring that production activities, final felling, thinning, and wood chip operations are carried out according to Södra's high standards for environment, quality, and safety. You will follow up on deliveries, ensure the timber meets the correct quality standards, and actively work to align production with our forecasts and plans.
An important part of the work is also coaching our contractors. Through regular dialogue, follow-up, and feedback, you will support them in developing their working methods, finding smarter solutions, and continuously raising the level of operations. Together, you will drive improvements that make a difference — both in the forest and for the overall business.
The position also offers the possibility of occasional remote work, giving you excellent conditions to plan and shape your work in a way that suits you and your daily life.
Who are we looking for?We are looking for someone who can drive their work independently while creating and maintaining good relationships. We expect you to have a strong ability to plan and allocate resources to achieve set goals, as well as excellent collaboration and communication skills. Furthermore, you should be motivated by developing individuals, groups, and working methods, and be attracted by technological development.
In your role, you have significant freedom to plan your own days; therefore, you need to be structured, meticulous, and comfortable working independently at times. We also believe you dare to challenge the status quo and develop both people and working methods. As forestry becomes increasingly digital, it is important that you are comfortable and curious about new technology.
To succeed in this role, we require a forestry university education or several years of practical forestry work experience. You must have good spoken and written Swedish skills, good computer literacy, and hold a B-class driver's license.
What it's like to work at SödraAt Södra, you get the opportunity to develop professionally while contributing to sustainable forestry that creates value for people and the environment. We place high value on your personal engagement and are committed to ensuring you enjoy your work and feel well. For your security, we offer collective agreements and good terms, as well as several benefits useful both at work and in your spare time.
Do you think this could be something for you? Then you know what to do. We look forward to hearing from you!

Help build a sustainable societySödra is one of the country's largest forest industry companies, jointly owned by more than 50,000 family forest owners in southern Sweden. In addition to developing forestry, we strive to always use forest raw materials in the most efficient and climate-smart way. Pulp, timber, textile pulp, and bio-products are just a few examples. By working together, we have the strength, engagement, and courage required to build a sustainable society. This happens with our feet on the ground, our ears to the outside world, and our eyes on the future.
