Our Street Department employs around 40 dedicated staff members. Together, we are responsible for streets and roads, parks and forests, parking, and public spaces. We also provide internal services to other departments and are located at Södra Fabriksgatan 20 in Oskarshamn. Do you want to help shape the future – for ourselves and for generations to come? RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for someone who wants to take care of our streets and roads regarding operations and maintenance throughout the road environment. We are seeking a person who will primarily work with our water and sewage network, where pipe laying and pipe welding are a major part. Operating various machinery and winter road maintenance are also important parts of our operations. The work is driven both independently and together with other operators. The Street Department includes units such as park maintenance and all other operations of our streets, where you may be helpful in these areas at certain times of the year. This can involve supporting work above the street, changing signs, fixing potholes, paving, and more. The work is based on a transparent and responsible position where you should be able to work completely independently with various tasks and also be part of different teams where there are other supervisors/managers leading projects.

Working hours are during the day, but during the period from November to March, you will be part of the Street Department's winter readiness, where you will clear snow and combat ice with machinery, both during the day and evening/night. The workplace can be anywhere in the municipality, but we operate from the Technical Office.

QUALIFICATIONS

You should have a high school education or experience that the employer deems equivalent. Experience with machinery operation, construction, or water and sewage (VA) is a requirement.

We believe you are an independent person but that you can and want to work together with others, used to juggling many balls and prioritizing since work in the street environment can be event-driven. So no two days are alike. Your positive attitude towards the world makes it easy for you to collaborate, and your personality is reflected in terms of accuracy, trust, and a sense of service. You perform your work in an efficient and quality-conscious manner and can express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish.

To succeed in the role of an operator, it is a given for us that you have a transparent working method and have a genuine interest in the profession with a willingness for new technology and development. Time reporting, map reading, and tasks are handled via various digital tools that are constantly developed together. Being genuinely curious about using digital aids is seen as a positive trait.

A Class B driver's license and a wheel loader license are prerequisites for you to take on the position and its associated tasks. It is a merit if you have previous experience with water and sewage work, excavator competence, and a chainsaw license.
