The Role of a Nursing Assistant

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a general ICU admitting severely ill patients who cannot be cared for on a regular ward. This means patients here require advanced treatment, careful monitoring, and advanced nursing care for threatened or manifest failure of vital functions. The work also includes postoperative care, with the goal of providing optimal care and treatment to patients after surgery.

Your main task is to provide qualified nursing care and monitoring of intensive care and postoperative patients, where you play a central role in the team together with doctors and specialist nurses. As a nursing assistant in the ICU, you are a key person in identifying and monitoring changes in patients' conditions.

At our unit, patient care is characterized by high professional skill, engagement, high-quality nursing, and personal treatment with respect and empathy. The work is marked by trust, participation, and personal responsibility. The position is a permanent full-time job with working hours that offer great variety as we work days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Start date is negotiable.

Your Profile

Many of the patients are in a vulnerable position, which requires knowledge, understanding, and empathy. You must be able to maintain your calm, be stable and controlled in emerging situations. It is important that you can work well with others and see your role in the team. You must be able to treat the patient in a way that creates a sense of security. You should be a qualified nursing assistant and preferably have experience from a ward within somatic care.
