The Role of Resident Physician

You will work as a resident physician in all of our care units as well as in the emergency department. Therefore, you will gain a broad and stimulating experience. On-call duties as primary on-call are included.

The position is a permanent full-time employment with start date according to agreement.

Our three care units, as well as outpatient care, day care, and dialysis, handle everything from stroke care to endocrinology, gastroenterology, geriatrics, hematology, cardiology, pulmonology, neurology, and nephrology – i.e., a broad spectrum of specialties that make each day both developing and rewarding. Your Profile

We are looking for someone who is ready to start a residency, either at the end of your general medical training (AT) or at the end of your basic training (BT). It is desirable that you have previous experience working in a medical clinic, but above all, we see that you have a solid interest in internal medicine and that you value teamwork highly.

Our Offer to You

As a resident physician, we offer you a broad education in internal medicine, which includes individual supervision and knowledge transfer as a natural part of the work. You will participate and have an active role in the development of our treatment methods and in our quality work.

Work schedules are planned together with supervisors, and some parts may be placed at a university clinic, but the main placement is at Värnamo Hospital. Region Jönköping County is responsible for providing courses covering all a- and b-goals according to the ST-ab concept. Supervisor training for both supervisors and resident physicians is included in the course. During ST-ab, conditions are also provided to carry out your own quality and development work.
