Fågelsjö Gammelgård Bortom Åa is one of the seven Hälsingegårdar that was added to UNESCO's World Heritage List on July 1, 2012. Bortom Åa is a well-preserved cultural environment with roots from the Finnish immigration in the 17th century. In 1910, a new house was built on the farmyard, and the old main building from 1818 was left in its original condition. The farm is currently owned by Ljusdal Municipality but is managed by Fågelsjö Hembygdsförening.

The new house from 1910 is now a café that welcomes about 15,000 guests during the summer months.

The farm offers guided tours, a craft shop with local crafts, a café, exhibitions, canoe and bicycle rentals, a baking house, conference facilities, hiking trails, and much more!

Job Description

As a Lunch Cook, you are an important part of our team at the farm. You are responsible for service in the café, which serves both snacks and lunches. You are the face of the business. The job includes welcoming guests, handling the cash register, baking pastries and cakes, cooking food (preferably traditional dishes), maintaining order in public and staff areas, assisting with events, and driving deliveries to the inland railway. The role requires flexibility, a good work ethic, and the ability to work at a fast pace.

As a Lunch Cook, you will be offered accommodation during your working period, sharing common areas such as kitchen and bathroom with the farm's guides.

Qualifications

We require that you have good knowledge of working in a café/restaurant kitchen, hygiene, handling food items, preparing lunches (traditional dishes), and simpler dinners.

You will be responsible for preparations, cooking, and service during our opening hours.

Evening and weekend work may occur.

You must be comfortable speaking both Swedish and English. If you speak additional languages, it is an advantage!

You are a team player and enjoy working closely with your colleagues.

We require that you have a driver's license as driving is part of the job.

Employment Date and Application

Café staff such as cooks are hired between June 1 and August 31 and work for a period of 2 months or the entire season. You who apply should be willing to work at least 2 months during the season.

We are now looking for 1 person for full-time/part-time work during the summer.
