The Sörby preschool area includes the districts of Sörby, Hemlingby, Hemlingborg, and Andersberg. We strive for high goal fulfillment and equal preschools with high quality. The area consists of ten preschools and about 800 enrolled children and approximately 180 employees. Our prioritized goal areas are multilingualism, mathematics, learning for sustainable development, norms and values, and nature/technology/entrepreneurship.

Sörby Preschool is a newly built preschool that opened in the autumn of 2019.

We have large, airy premises with plenty of space for play and teaching, for example, we have two studios. We also have a fantastic outdoor environment with varied design, including grass areas, asphalt areas, and our own small grove.

Our children are divided into six departments, and we work by age group. The food is prepared by our chef using a large proportion of organic ingredients.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a chef at the preschool, I create nutritious, sustainable, and enjoyable meals that contribute to the children's safety, development, and joy of food. By working closely with the educators and following the municipality's guidelines for meals in preschool, I ensure that each child receives a good and varied diet prepared with care, quality, and a strong commitment to both the environment and health.

Your responsibilities include:

• Preparing nutritious meals from scratch with a sustainable perspective.
• Planning menus and managing purchases cost-effectively with organic and climate-smart products.
• Washing dishes and cleaning the kitchen, as well as ensuring that hygiene routines are followed in the preparation kitchen.
• Working independently in the kitchen and collaborating with children and educators.
• Being part of the work team and participating in workplace meetings and network meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS

In the role of chef, you should have:

• Education that can be assessed as equivalent to the restaurant program in high school with a focus on cooking, at least 1400 points.
• Knowledge and experience of preschool kitchens/schools with planning, purchasing, and preparing meals from scratch. This includes, for example, nutritious content, allergy diets, vegetarian options, as well as cost-effectiveness and sustainability from an environmental perspective.
• Experience with computers as ordering and receiving goods is done digitally.
• You should be able to read, understand, and communicate in Swedish to, for example, comprehend work safety information, cleaning routines, instructions, safety regulations, product descriptions, and more.

To succeed in the role:

• Be creative and innovative; you easily find new angles and solutions to problems. You also seek opportunities for improvement in the organization and take the initiative for change.
• Have the ability to plan and organize your work well in the kitchen. You easily set goals, organize resources, and follow up and complete activities.
• See what needs to be prioritized, be efficient, and use resources to achieve the best results.

As a final candidate in the recruitment process, it is a requirement that you present an extract from the criminal record for work in schools or preschools.
