Job Responsibilities

As a maintenance technician, your primary mission is to prevent operational disturbances and ensure stable and efficient production at our combined heat and power plants in Halmstad. The daily work mainly consists of mechanical maintenance, primarily preventive but also corrective maintenance.

Examples of job responsibilities:

• Maintenance and repair of mechanical systems such as gearboxes, pumps, electric motors, bearings, hoists, grabs, conveyor belts, valves, and piping systems.

• Workshop tasks involving welding, turning, cutting, and bending machines, repairs in steel structures and buildings.

• Work with hydraulics and pneumatics, e.g., cylinders, valves.

• Troubleshooting during operational disturbances, participating in planned maintenance and improvement work.

• Planning and follow-up of work in our maintenance system Maintmaster.

• On-call duty.

You will be part of a close-knit team consisting of seven maintenance technicians with an associated team leader. The work is performed both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues.

The position is varied – both in terms of job responsibilities and work environment – as HEM has several different types of facilities located around Halmstad.

The employment is a permanent position during daytime. On-call duty is included.

Qualifications

We are looking for a mechanic with documented experience from the industrial or combined heat and power sector. The position requires relevant vocational training in mechanics or a related field, as well as practical experience in maintenance work in heavy industry, process plants, or combined heat and power plants. Basic computer skills are important as the planning of tasks is performed and generated through our maintenance system, Maintmaster, and we also use the Office suite. You speak and write fluently in Swedish and understand and can speak English.

As a person, you are solution-oriented, and the work requires that you can receive and manage freedom under your own responsibility. You have your own drive and see what needs to be done in the daily operations and are eager to take the initiative to develop it. Good collaboration skills are a given for us. We place great importance on your personal qualities.

You have a B driver's license, and it is an advantage if you have training certificates for forklift, wheel loader, lift, fall protection, hoist, and hot work.

This role is not suitable for you if you lack formal mechanical training or experience working in an industrial environment, and only applicants who meet the requirements will proceed in the selection process.
