The Workplace

The Community Building Administration has a wide-ranging operation that includes the units of street/park, water and sewage, planning and building, food services, as well as cleaning and associated administrative services.

Within the food service, we are responsible for several different kitchens in the municipality, ranging from school kitchens to elderly care kitchens. This position is located at the preschool Kompassen, which has a production kitchen where you work alone. Kompassen has a shared dining room where the children eat. The younger ones have their food served at the tables, while the older ones take food from the serving counter. In total, we serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks to about 70 children and staff.

We prepare all food from scratch as much as possible, bake our own bread, and work to use as much locally grown and Swedish products as possible, as well as to reduce food waste and CO2e.

Job Responsibilities

As a chef at preschool Kompassen, you will work with daily tasks in a kitchen such as cooking, dietary cooking, handling food, daily production planning, serving, dishwashing, and cleaning. Orders and budget responsibility are also part of your duties.

You will have customer contact at various levels, handle incoming and outgoing deliveries of goods and meals. Of course, you will also be involved in monitoring and developing the operation.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a chef's education from high school or equivalent education/experience. We prefer that you have documented professional experience. You need to have knowledge in dietary cooking, computer skills, and have worked with HACCP and be familiar with that working method.

You should have a great interest in cooking, good collaboration skills, be service-oriented, and have a flexible working approach. We place great importance on knowledge, joy of work, and personal suitability.

You should have good knowledge of the Swedish language, in speech, writing, and comprehension, in order to work according to our kitchen instructions, HACCP plan, substitute instructions, and to be able to communicate with our customers.
