Olofström Municipality is looking for a Special Education Teacher with a focus on Intellectual Disabilities for the adapted primary school at Högavångsskolan.

About the School

Högavångsskolan is Olofström Municipality's secondary school, centrally located in Olofström, close to nature, culture, and municipal services. The school has approximately 464 students in grades 7–9 and about 70 dedicated staff members who work together to create safe, inclusive, and knowledge-stimulating learning environments. We have good collaboration between subject teams and student health services and continuously work to develop teaching so that all students can achieve their fullest potential.

Job Responsibilities

You will work as a special education teacher in the adapted primary school at our secondary school, in close collaboration with other teachers and assistants throughout the school day. As a special education teacher, you will be part of a team where you and your colleagues plan, teach, and document according to the curriculum.

Examples of tasks included in the job:

• conduct pedagogical investigations
• implement educational initiatives based on the school's identified needs
• provide guidance to the school's educators and teams
• support analysis work at the individual, group, and organizational levels
• contribute to creating good learning environments for all students, focusing on group and organizational levels
• make targeted, individual interventions for students in need
• be a resource in teaching and make adjustments to support students based on their specific difficulties

Qualifications

• Certification as a Special Education Teacher with a focus on intellectual disabilities.
• Experience in teaching in adapted primary schools and/or special education groups is an advantage.

Those with other teaching certifications for grades 1-9 and experience working in adapted primary schools are also welcome to apply.
