We are looking for someone who wants a summer job where you create security and contribute to ensuring that our elderly residents on Kungsholmen have a meaningful and functional everyday life and summer.

Welcome to us

Kungsholmen Home Care provides home care in ordinary housing. In addition to the regular open home care, the unit has a dementia team and a home support group that provides support to the elderly with mental disabilities. The services include care interventions around the clock as well as support and service tasks in the form of walks, meal, and cleaning services. We have an experienced and trained staff group that provides good care with continuity, quality, and self-determination. With us, you walk, bike, or use public transport to move between clients during work.

As a care assistant, you have scheduled working hours during the day, evening, and weekends (7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, 1:30 PM - 10:00 PM, and 4:00 PM - 10:00 PM). We prefer that you can work at least 4 consecutive weeks during the period from June to August.

We offer

We offer a fun and meaningful summer job between June - August. The summer job is an opportunity to broaden your knowledge and contribute to your personal professional development.

To ensure you feel secure and safe in your job, you will undergo a two-day introductory program with both theoretical and practical components. Parts of the introduction include training in handling medications for delegation, various techniques for moving care recipients, documenting your work efforts, and learning about basic hygiene routines. We will also cover areas such as cognition and nutrition to help you understand the needs and well-being of the elderly.

Your role

As a care assistant, you have an important task to make people's everyday lives easier, better, and more enjoyable. You provide good care and social support to the elderly in their daily lives. This includes helping with medications, cooking, shopping, cleaning, laundry, and personal care such as showering and toilet visits. You also promote the functional ability of the elderly and contribute to a social and active lifestyle. In addition to practical and social tasks, you have contact with relatives, participate in care planning, and document events in our documentation system, Parasol.

Your qualifications and experience

We are looking for someone who meets one of the following criteria:

• High school or vocational training in health and care (degree or ongoing)
• Ongoing studies in nursing or medical programs
• Other education or experience that the employer deems equivalent.

You also have:

• Knowledge in health and care work
• Good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form
• Computer, mobile, and system proficiency as documentation and reporting are part of the job
• At least 18 years old.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience working in elderly care
• Experience working in health and care

About the recruitment process

To work with the elderly and people with disabilities in their homes in the City of Stockholm, you must provide an extract from the criminal record. The extract must not be older than 6 months from the date of issuance.

The Department of Elderly Care is responsible for assistance handling and various interventions that enable the elderly to have their care needs met. Here you will find care and nursing homes, service houses, support for relatives, day activities, and home care. The administration applies full-time as the norm, and you will be employed within Kungsholmen's elderly care.
