JOB DESCRIPTION

Do you want to contribute to a safer society? As a correctional officer in a prison, you are the foundation of security work. You work in teams with other professionals to maintain a safe and secure environment and to motivate clients towards a life without crime. The daily work involves locking and unlocking residential rooms, searching premises, and supervision, as well as counseling and preparation for release, among other tasks. The role of a correctional officer involves a structured and routine-based approach with a focus on risk assessment and security awareness.

QUALIFICATIONS

You share our belief that people can develop and change. Furthermore, you should have good physical fitness and be able to act physically when required.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Work experience, including seasonal work, hourly employment, or self-employment. Internships and volunteer work are not considered equivalent to employment.
• Complete upper secondary education or other education combined with work experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant.
• The ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.
• Good computer skills.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Work experience in corrections, security work, service work, psychiatry, or healthcare. Knowledge in relevant areas such as behavioral science, criminology, psychiatry, law, and conflict management.
• A driving license (B).
• Relevant language skills.
