We are now looking for

The County Administrative Board of Östergötland is looking for someone who wants a summer job and has the qualities needed to strengthen our work team in the western part of the county.

We are targeting those who want to work with practical fieldwork to promote biodiversity by contributing to our work with the management of meadows and other protected nature.

About the unit

You will belong to the unit for the management of protected nature, where about 20 people currently work, focusing on the management of the county's more than 600 protected areas. The unit's work also includes information about the areas, as well as operation and maintenance of facilities for outdoor life.

Your tasks

You will be part of the work team that performs practical fieldwork such as meadow management, brush clearing, fencing, and maintenance and operation of outdoor life facilities. The starting point is a workshop located in Skeby, Väderstad, which is in the western part of the county. Your help will be an important reinforcement during the intensive period when we primarily work with mowing tasks in species-rich meadow areas in the area.

Requirements for the position:

• Driver's license B, to be able to travel to Skeby, Väderstad daily on your own and at the times required for the assignment.
• The work requires good physical condition as you will be working with physical tasks in the field full-time.

Meritorious:

• We would like you to have an interest in practical nature conservation, but the position does not require any formal education.
• Experience from previous work with meadow care, other practical nature conservation management, or agricultural sectors is meritorious.
• Relevant practical skills from education or acquired in other ways are also meritorious.

As a person

you are ambitious, reliable, and solution-oriented. You have good collaboration skills, are attentive, and have the ability to take in instructions and perform the tasks assigned to you to contribute to the group's common tasks. You have a positive attitude towards new tasks and challenges and enjoy taking shared responsibility with others.

The employment is

a seasonal position for 4–8 weeks starting July 20 or by agreement.
