The IT department's main task is to provide IT services to the entire Police Authority and is an important part of crime prevention and crime-fighting efforts. IT is one of the most important tools for streamlining the police and improving the quality of police work. Therefore, the authority invests significantly in strengthening the department with new specialist competencies and the latest technology for the benefit of citizens and employees in the police operations.
The section works with the maintenance, supply, and development of specialist functions such as intervention units, covert coercive measures, bomb protection, police aviation, dog operations, the mounted police, the marine police, etc. This area is one of the Police Authority's most prioritized areas, and we are looking for someone who wants to contribute to a highly relevant, exciting, and important mission.

Job Description
The group works to develop and maintain systems used to detect and prevent serious crimes. As a system administrator, you will be a key person in the work with your technical expertise, especially within Windows systems. You will be responsible for ensuring operations, which includes system maintenance and configuration, such as installation and troubleshooting of hardware and software, as well as evaluating new technology. We work closely with the operational police activities where you, in the role, will have an important role in creating understanding of the police's needs and challenges in order to translate these into technical solutions.
Examples of everyday tasks:
- Installation, configuration, and ongoing security work
- Automation/standardization
- Proactive maintenance, lifecycle management
- Optimization, troubleshooting, and fault resolution
- Participation in the work with new technical solutions
- Documentation, environmental monitoring, and participation in the work with working methods and services within the technical areas
Qualifications
This is an opportunity for you who have:
- Relevant post-secondary education in IT or equivalent experience deemed relevant by the Police Authority
- Work experience in network infrastructure
- Experience in managing certificates, IP addressing, and firewall rules
- Several years of relevant work experience in operations and/or system administration of Windows-based servers and virtual servers
- Very good ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in Swedish
- Good ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in English
- Swedish citizenship
It is meritorious if you also have:
- Relevant work experience in troubleshooting in complex environments with high availability requirements
- Experience of similar work in a larger organization and/or authority

As a system administrator, you will be involved in various types of assignments of different character, we therefore value that you are adaptable and can shift focus when the work requires it.
You are a team player who finds it easy to collaborate and is communicative and can handle many contact points as you will have a lot of dialogue with other operations within the authority. Furthermore, we see that you are driven with a desire to develop and share your own expertise.
