Who are we?

Staffing Service is Sahlgrenska University Hospital's (SU) internal resource organization. We recruit and are responsible for all hourly staff within SU. Our mission is to staff the care departments with engaged and competent personnel during acute short-term absences. As an hourly employee at Staffing Service, you have the opportunity to work across several different departments with various patient groups and care interventions within our operations at Sahlgrenska Hospital, Östra Hospital, Mölndal Hospital, Högsbo Hospital, and Rågården forensic psychiatry.

What do we offer?

We offer flexible working hours! Through our booking system Time Care Pool, you can choose your shifts based on your availability. You have full control over when and how much you want to work, with a minimum of four shifts per month.

Job responsibilities

As a student, you will work as a nursing assistant, where your main tasks consist of providing personal care and contributing to rehabilitation efforts in close collaboration with the patient. This includes personal care, sample collection, medical checks, and reporting. You will also work closely with other professionals in the unit to ensure comprehensive care.

About you

You are a nursing or medical student and want to combine your studies with valuable work experience. We believe you also want to contribute to improving patients' quality of life and ensuring a high standard of care through your engagement and knowledge.

To be considered for the position, you need to meet one of the following requirements:

• Completed at least the third semester of the nursing program
• Completed at least the fifth semester of the medical program at the University of Gothenburg
• Completed at least the sixth semester of the medical program at another institution

For medical students, previous work experience in healthcare is required to be eligible for the position. To provide our patients with good and safe care, it is crucial that you can communicate clearly in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. Experience with tasks such as sample collection, pulse measurement, and blood pressure checks is also a prerequisite.

Working hours and availability:

We are looking for someone who can work at least four shifts per month, starting by agreement.

To be qualified for the position, you must attach:

• Both results and registration certificates showing which semester you are in and how many credits you have earned so far.
• Transcripts translated into English by your university if you are studying abroad. It should indicate which semester you are in.
• A statement from the National Board of Health and Welfare or have validated your education through UHR if you have foreign education.

As of July 1, 2023, the title of nursing assistant will be a protected professional title. This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant within healthcare and social services. For those offered a position with us at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, this means that the title in your employment contract will be nursing assistant instead of nursing assistant. You can apply for the certificate from July 1, 2023. If you do not have a certificate, you can continue to work in healthcare and social services, but without the title nursing assistant.
