Meal Falkenberg has about 65 kitchens, of which 30 are production kitchens and the remaining are reception kitchens. We have around 160 employees and we prepare food for schools, preschools, and high schools, as well as users in elderly care and home care. Our kitchens prepare a total of approximately 7000 lunch portions per day.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you passionate about service and putting the guest at the center and enjoy meeting younger diners? Then the position of kitchen assistant at Stafsinge preschool kitchen is for you.

Here, lunch is prepared for children and staff at Stafsinge preschool and Solhagen preschool.

You will help compose the daily salad buffet focusing on seasonal ingredients, prepare food carts before and after serving and dishwashing, handle self-control, kitchen cleaning, statistics, orders, and goods reception, and participate in cooking. You are responsible for ensuring that the food is served on time and with the right quality, focusing on positive interactions, contributing to a good working environment, being involved in the functioning of the operations, promoting effective collaboration between the kitchen and departments, and contributing to the development of the unit.

Food waste and sustainability are something we work with daily, which we consider very important, and we therefore see that you are resourceful, rational, and flexible.

Uniquely for this position, you will cycle to the nearby Solhagen preschool with the day's lunch, wash breakfast and lunch dishes there, prepare for snacks and tomorrow's breakfast. Two days a week you will be at Solhagen preparing porridge breakfast before cycling back to Stafsinge to participate in the day's lunch production. You will have the privilege of serving two preschools, meeting many children and educators, and getting fresh air and a change of environment during working hours.

It is desirable and meritorious that you have knowledge and feel confident in cooking to be able to handle this if the chef is absent.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have restaurant education at the high school level or similar and/or several years of experience in work, preferably in a kitchen. Food and cooking are close to your heart, and you share our opinion that meals are an important part of everyday life. Basic knowledge of special diets is a prerequisite. As a person, you are responsible, take initiative, have the ability to be flexible, and deliver good quality in a fast-paced environment.

Work in another kitchen may occur during holidays and in case of vacancies in another kitchen.

Cooking may occur during holidays or chef absence. Experience in cooking is therefore meritorious.

Extensive knowledge of special diets is a must.

Good computer skills are required as you will register your absence in Personec, register statistics, make orders, register self-control digitally in Matilda, and access information on our website and our home catalog.

You need to have a good understanding of the Swedish Food Agency's hygiene regulations and recommendations and be familiar with HACCP.

Your ability to understand and use the Swedish language, both orally and in writing, is very good.

The work requires good physical condition in terms of strength, stamina, and mobility, and we therefore believe that you maintain your health through some form of exercise and a healthy lifestyle.
