The Labor Market and Social Administration provides support to vulnerable children, families, and individuals with mental disabilities. Our more than 600 employees work with addiction care, financial assistance, labor market issues, budget and debt counseling, and family law matters. Our task also includes managing permits and supervision for alcohol and tobacco.

Description

We are now looking for a department head for the family department, which is centrally located at Karolinen in Karlstad. The administration is ready to meet the changes and challenges that come with the new Social Services Act.

The family department is one of three departments under the administration. The department is responsible for addressing the needs of children, youth, and families for safety and security, providing support and protective measures. We also provide services, advice, and support in the area of family law and work preventively with various interventions. The department conducts work both within authority exercises and a number of operational activities.

At the Labor Market and Social Administration, you will receive good support from colleagues and various support functions. The position is directly subordinate to the social director, and the department head is part of the administration's central management group.

Responsibilities

As department head, you have overall responsibility for a large and operationally extensive department. You have overall responsibility for operations, personnel, and budget. You also have delegated responsibility for working with occupational health and safety. The department employs nearly 200 staff, and the department head leads a group of eight managers.

Qualifications

You who are applying should be a social worker or have another equivalent university education, and we consider it an advantage if you have experience in management within social child welfare. You should have experience in management within public administration.

As a person, you are secure, stable, and communicative. The ability to switch between the big picture and details, strategy and practical implementation is something you master well. You find it easy to listen, build trust, and guide others, while also taking initiative and driving development forward. With a structured approach and a positive attitude towards change, you are a natural role model in creating engagement and participation.
