Mörbylånga Municipality conducts a large part of its property-related operations in corporate form. This includes Mörbylånga Bostads AB, a public housing company with properties consisting of approximately 830 residential apartments distributed across seven locations on southern Öland. The company owns, builds, develops, and manages rental housing in a sustainable manner. Mörbylånga Fastighets AB is also part of the municipal group and offers a variety of commercial, retail, and industrial premises for rent.

All staff are employed by the newly established MB Förvaltning och Service AB, a subsidiary within the municipal group, currently around 90 employees. MB Förvaltning och Service AB manages, on behalf of Mörbylånga Municipality, the municipality's properties such as schools, preschools, elderly homes, youth centers, and municipal offices.

We are a stable company with loyal staff, and our tenants and businesses appreciate the close contact they have with us. Our offices are located in Mörbylånga and Färjestaden.

We are now looking for a property caretaker to join our team based in Färjestaden as one of our employees is retiring.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Property Caretaker, you will be part of an area team where you collectively are responsible for supervision, maintenance, and upkeep of a number of properties. You are one of our faces to the public and are responsible for ensuring that tenants feel satisfied and secure in their work and living environment.

You will work with planned maintenance in your district as well as in the municipality's properties, but will also go out to handle more urgent reports from our tenants and customers.

Together with your colleagues, you will plan your days and take your own initiatives. You have great freedom under responsibility and sometimes work together and sometimes independently.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Conducting inspections related to property operations, maintenance, and upkeep
  • Handling service and fault reports
  • Performing some troubleshooting of technical systems
  • Customer contact and showing apartments during move-ins
  • Ongoing supervision of properties in your area

The position also includes snow preparedness during certain weeks in the winter. When the weather requires, you may be called in for snow removal around our properties and municipal facilities during evenings and weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is positive and driven, and has an easy time collaborating and communicating with others. You enjoy an active and varied job and have the ability to switch between different tasks while maintaining efficiency and quality in your work.

Furthermore, you have knowledge of property operations and maintenance while possessing good social skills. You thrive in situations where you meet people and value good relationships with both colleagues and external contacts, and especially with our customers.

To be suitable for the role, we would like you to have the following experiences and qualifications:

  • Education in property management
  • Driver's license (B)
  • Experience in similar work

We work with ongoing selection and apply a probationary period of 6 months.
