Production Leader for Agriculture/Workshop

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is expanding – we are building new facilities, renovating, and adding on, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, detention centers, and client transport.

The Umeå area includes the closed prison Umeå, the open prison Sörbyn, and the detention center Umeå. We are undergoing significant capacity increases, and a lot is happening in the area in terms of renovations and new constructions. The largest professional group is correctional officers, but we also have healthcare professionals, administrative staff, educators, production leaders, etc. At the Sörbyn prison, the inmates are engaged in labor market training, learning centers, various treatment programs, or work in the kitchen, carpentry, plant cultivation, textiles, etc. The Sörbyn prison is an agricultural facility with grain cultivation and animal husbandry. At the Umeå prison, the inmates are engaged in wood/industry, kitchen, learning centers, and treatment programs. The Umeå prison and detention center are about a 10-minute walk from the nearest bus stop, and the Sörbyn prison is only accessible by car. Staff parking is available at all units.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a production leader, you will have direct contact with our clients in the prison's production. In your daily contact with the inmates, your work means that you contribute to the clients' learning but also to the clients reflecting on their situation.

After the introduction, you as a production leader will be responsible for the daily operations. You will plan, allocate tasks, and ensure that our deliveries are made on time. You will also participate in the production work yourself. Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for production planning.

The work of a production leader varies depending on the area you work in. In agriculture, you will be responsible for guiding inmates in their daily work. The tasks include plant cultivation, maintenance of cultivation areas, sanitation, harvesting, and production and handling of feed. In the workshop, the primary tasks are repair and maintenance of agricultural machinery.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is secure, stable, and has self-awareness. You find it easy to collaborate with others and have well-founded and clear values. In stressful situations, you remain calm, stable, and controlled. You have the ability to make correct assessments and priorities. You have a good understanding of how people absorb knowledge and adapt your way of conveying messages based on the recipient's conditions. You should also have a physical condition that allows you to act physically if the situation requires it.

To thrive and succeed in your role, it is important that you share the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's fundamental values of a humane view of humanity, respect for the individual, and belief in human development. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. Requirements:

• Completed upper secondary school education in the form of a final grade or upper secondary diploma, or other education combined with work experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing
• Driver's license B
• Work experience in agriculture

We consider it an advantage if you have:

• Work experience from a supervisory role
• Work experience in correctional services, security work, social care, psychiatry, or healthcare and social work
• Relevant language skills
• Certification for weed control
• Experience working with crop planning
• Experience working in a workshop
