Description

We are looking for an engaged employee for the Nature Unit who wants to work to preserve and develop Blekinge's biological diversity together with us.

We are about 20 employees in the unit and are responsible for the establishment and management of nature reserves, action programs for endangered species, outdoor life, wildlife management, etc. You will thus become part of our developing and exciting nature conservation work.

Job Responsibilities

In this role, you will coordinate and develop our work on the restoration of nature and habitats. Initially, the focus will be on the County Administrative Board's task to assess the status of habitat types within Natura 2000 areas. In the long term, the role will have a more strategic focus on implementing the EU regulation on nature restoration. This means that you will have an overarching role to investigate, analyze, and assess the effects of conservation measures and how they contribute to achieving the goals of the regulation. You will also manage directives and information regarding the nature restoration regulation that comes to the County Administrative Board and keep our planning of the assignment together.

Collaboration will be an important part of your role. You will cooperate internally within the County Administrative Board and externally with, among others, landowners, municipalities, and businesses, where part of your assignment will be to create conditions for other societal actors to contribute to the work. You will also be part of national networks.

In all our assignments, administration, follow-up, and reporting the results of the operations in projects and to our clients are included. Part of your work will involve compiling and managing data, including in the mapping tool NNK. You will also respond to referrals and drive processes and participate in projects within the unit's areas of activity. Together with us, you will also actively identify opportunities to seek new projects to develop the operations.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• a university/college degree in natural sciences (e.g., biology, ecology, environmental science) or other equivalent education
• experience working with nature conservation and Natura 2000
• experience handling complex issues regarding nature and habitat types
• a B driver's license

It is advantageous if you also have:

• experience in project management and driving processes
• worked with nature restoration
• experience working in the mapping tool NNK

Personal Qualities

We see that you are a proactive person with a holistic perspective who enjoys keeping assignments together. The role largely involves dialogue, coordination, and collaboration, so we see that you have a good ability to create and maintain good relationships.

To succeed in the role, you also need to be skilled at analyzing different types of materials and making well-founded priorities. Sometimes conditions change, and we see that you are flexible and can adapt to any changes.

You need to have good administrative skills and be able to express yourself fluently in speech and writing in Swedish.
