The Hospitals in the West is an administration within the Västra Götaland Region and consists of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. Description

The Medicine department at Kungälv Hospital includes specialties such as cardiology, diabetology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, hematology, internal medicine, and healthcare administration.

Within the Medicine department at Kungälv Hospital, there are three wards, a day care unit, and a clinic with teams associated with the various specialties.

You will work at the medical clinic and/or day care depending on the summer planning. The units are open during daytime on weekdays.

Responsibilities

In the clinic, your responsibilities will include receiving our patients and ensuring preparatory checks before their visit, such as EKG, blood pressure, blood sampling, registrations, and more. In our day care unit, you will work with bloodletting, checks, blood sampling, registrations, and assisting our doctors and nurses. Documentation and registrations are done in our patient administrative systems, ELVIS and Melior, so it is advantageous if you have experience working with these.

You need to have good collaboration skills, be stress-resistant, and easily shift focus, as the tasks can vary. Most importantly, the patients who come to us should feel that we are here for them and make their visit as positive as possible. Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant, preferably with experience in ward work and/or clinic work. You may also be a medical student who has completed at least 6 semesters or a nursing student who has completed at least 4 semesters. You are a stable and flexible person with very good collaboration skills and computer literacy. Personal suitability is highly valued, and you should be able to work a significant part of the summer.

Protected Professional Title for Nursing Assistants

As of July 1, 2023, the title of nursing assistant is a protected professional title. This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant within healthcare and social services.
