Are you passionate about women's health and want to work in an engaged and competent team in close collaboration with breast surgeons, pathologists, oncologists, and breast nurses? Then this is your chance!

Our mammography unit consists of 11 radiographers, three specialists in radiology, and three residents focusing on mammography. The operation includes both clinical mammography and screening. The clinical reception for mammography is located in newly renovated premises as part of the regional clinic for Imaging and Functional Medicine at Sunderby Hospital. We have five fixed screening units distributed across the respective hospitals in the region, serving an area of approximately 250,000 inhabitants.

The clinical operations focus on mammography and ultrasound, with limited use of MRI. With an additional specialist in the team, we look forward to the opportunity to develop the operations through the introduction of both VAE (Vacuum Assisted Excision) and contrast mammography.

In 2025, we will implement AI support in screening reviews.

We are looking for

We are looking for a specialist in radiology, specifically mammography, for a position as a senior physician or specialist physician.

As a senior physician, you should have:

• Several years of well-documented clinical experience (at least 4 years) as a specialist physician with broad and extensive knowledge in the specialty and/or relevant subspecialty required for work in the section
• Documented teaching and mentoring qualifications (including approved ST supervisor training)
A PhD with active research in a relevant field is an advantage.

Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities. You have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.

This is what you will work with

Serving as a senior physician entails increased responsibility compared to working as a specialist physician.

A senior physician:

• Must have medical knowledge and competence to be independently medically responsible for a specific area and share overall responsibility for their specialty as well as part of the overall responsibility for the clinic's total operations. This includes working to align relevant staff towards set goals
• Is expected to contribute to the development of evidence-based care and be prepared to mentor students and colleagues in all clinical situations
• Is expected to demonstrate good leadership qualities and be able to take responsibility for operational development as well as lead projects and improvement efforts

Only time worked as a specialist physician is not sufficient to qualify as a senior physician.

In your daily work, you can expect to work as a breast radiologist with both screening reviews and clinical mammography, as well as participate in multidisciplinary conferences in a well-functioning team with surgeons, pathologists, and oncologists.

We are looking for

As a specialist physician:

We are looking for someone with a Swedish medical license and completed specialist training in radiology with good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form. You have a solid interest in our specialty and want to influence the future development of the specialty within the region.

You will work as a breast radiologist with clinical mammography and screening reviews. Your tasks will include mentoring residents. You will participate in multidisciplinary conferences/breast rounds in a stimulating and developing work environment.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. We expect you to have personal maturity, judgment, and strong commitment. You are flexible and have good collaboration skills. You are interested in development and change work.
