Do you want to drive trains in your hometown? Are you ready for a new career? SJ offers you a paid training and a secure employment from your first day. The training leads to your locomotive driver's license and provides you with a solid introduction to the profession.

Your upcoming role Before SJ's passengers board the train, an exciting job opens up for you as a vehicle operator in the depot. You are responsible for ensuring that the trains can run safely and punctually for our passengers. Your tasks are crucial for the operation to function.

Your employment as a vehicle operator begins with a 13-week paid training where you will receive a driver's license for locomotive driving after examination. After the training, you will have a comprehensive introduction period that helps you develop further in the role. The work is mostly performed outdoors and in three shifts, which gives you an active and physical workday at Hagalund's depot in Solna.

Your tasks:

• Drive trains to and from the workshop and wash.

• Preparation to check safety before departure.

• Drive trains through automatic washing to keep them clean.

• Drive and shunt wagons from incoming to outgoing trains.

Expectations for the candidate As a person, you are responsible, safety-conscious, and have good communication skills. Taking initiative and making decisions independently comes naturally to you. You thrive in varied work and have the ability to handle many tasks simultaneously. In a group, you are a humble team player with strong collaboration skills and are not afraid to ask for help when needed. Curiosity and interest in machines, vehicles, and especially trains are advantageous.

• Approved high school diploma.

• Fluent Swedish in speech and writing.

• Must be at least 20 years old at the time of examination for the driver's license.
