Care Assistant for the Finnish Department at Fredslund

Fredslund is a care and nursing home located in Hasslerör, seven kilometers north of Mariestad. Here, a pleasant rural environment prevails where you can sit together with other guests or find a quiet corner. Walking paths are available around the residence. We have four units at Fredslund, one of which is focused on the Finnish administrative area, meaning that there are Finnish-speaking residents and staff. Here at Fredslund, we also have the opportunity to offer respite care.

We are now looking for a care assistant for a permanent position in the Finnish department. As we are also facing an upcoming parental leave in another department, we are also seeking a replacement for this employee.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The job responsibilities consist of personal care, delegated medical tasks, social interaction, and daily chores. The work also involves close collaboration with the unit manager, assistant unit manager, nurses, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists.

We work with contact person assignments and representative tasks where you as an employee have the opportunity to develop and be part of the development of the organization.

At Fredslund, various activities are offered for the residents according to their wishes and interests, carried out by the care staff. Examples of activities may include reading newspapers/books, baking, chair exercises, quiz walks, music quizzes, reading cafes, walks, movies, pub with entertainment, puzzles, and board games. Various churches regularly visit Fredslund. Entertainment of various kinds, such as dance bands, accordion players, and other performances, takes place regularly and is well appreciated.

We work on a seven-week schedule covering days, evenings, and weekends. This means that you will work three out of seven weekends, and you will have two consecutive weekends off during the schedule period.

The positions we are now advertising are:

• a permanent position in the Finnish department, starting May 1
• a parental leave substitute for at least six months in another department, starting as soon as possible according to agreement. After the substitute position, there may be an opportunity for continued work in one of our units here at Fredslund.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a trained care assistant and preferably has previous work experience with elderly people. You should have knowledge of dementia and mental distress and be responsive to the needs of the users. We also see that you are a secure person in your interactions with care recipients and possess good caregiving skills.

It is important that you are structured and flexible as a person and can adapt quickly. You are driven and curious to learn new things and develop in your professional role. Since we work a lot with activities, it is an advantage if you are an inventive and creative person.

You are expected to have good knowledge of the Swedish language both orally and in writing. For the position in the Finnish department, knowledge of the Finnish language is also highly meritorious. Computer skills are also required for you to document and access written documentation in the systems used by the organization. All to ensure good and safe care.

A driver's license and a car are required to reach the workplace.
