Brandbergsskolan in Haninge municipality is expanding its operations! Brandbergsskolan is a F-9 school with a learning studio, special education groups, preparatory classes, and adapted primary school.

For the school year 2024/2025, we are starting a new operation: adapted primary school subject areas. Due to this, we are now looking for childcare workers, leisure educators, and special teachers! The new operation applies to the lower grades. This advertisement is for a leisure educator.

Your mission

As a leisure educator in the adapted primary school subject areas, you will work with a group of children all day.

During school days, you will have a student-supporting role and assist teaching teachers in conducting lesson periods. You provide physical, social, and pedagogical support to students, with a particular focus on support within ADL - Activities of Daily Living.

This means you help students with, among other things:

• Eating and drinking - breakfast, lunch, and snacks
• Getting dressed and undressed
• Personal hygiene - showering, possible diaper changes
• Toilet visits and body care

After school hours, you as a leisure educator are responsible for conducting lessons and activities in the leisure home. You plan, implement, evaluate activities, and lead other colleagues in the work at the leisure home. Your activities and lessons are based on the students' needs.

What we are looking for in you

We are looking for someone who is a qualified leisure educator or teacher for leisure homes or other education we find equivalent. You must, of course, be familiar with the curricula for both leisure homes and adapted primary schools. You have experience working in leisure homes and with children/youth with intellectual disabilities, preferably within adapted primary school.

As a leisure educator in an adapted primary school, you need to be solution-oriented as the operation will challenge you, and you need to be able to make decisions based on the student's best interest in the moment. This also requires that you have collaboration skills as you will work with various functions and roles.

You need to be flexible in your role as you will need to be led by teachers in school instruction as well as lead colleagues in the leisure home.

You have a stable physique as outdoor activities will occur in all weather conditions, and you will need to provide physical support to students.

You need to express yourself academically well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, as the work involves contact with guardians as well as a lot of documentation.
