Vittra Väsby is hiring After-School Teacher
Vittra Schools, one of Sweden's leading independent school companies with 24 preschools and primary schools across the country. About the role:
Are you an after-school teacher who is driven to create a meaningful leisure time for children and young people? Who understands its importance and has the competence to fulfill the role? We are now looking for a qualified after-school teacher for our after-school program.
As a trained after-school teacher, you will help lead and develop the after-school program's activities. We have a strong focus on language and knowledge-developing methods throughout the school day. Therefore, you should enjoy both leading and developing, as well as have a curious approach to your role. You need to appreciate and see the value in working systematically and planning the teaching in the after-school program based on Lgr-22 and the students' needs and interests.

This means that it is always we, the after-school teachers, who are responsible for both the teaching and the pedagogical relationship, but everything we do is done in collaboration with the students.
Vittra Väsby is located in Upplands Väsby municipality and started in 2006. Vittra Väsby is situated in Upplands Väsby, a municipality with about 42,000 inhabitants north of Stockholm. The school has suitable, bright, and spacious premises that invite good learning environments tailored to meet the students' needs with support and in collaboration with SPSM, the Swedish National Agency for Special Needs Education and Schools.
The school has access to a sports hall, Smedsgärdshallen, which is located near the school. The outdoor environment is adapted for play and learning.
At Vittra Väsby, we work according to the Swedish National Agency for Education's recommendations regarding full-day learning, which means an active and pedagogical after-school program that complements the school.
At Vittra Väsby, students from preschool class to grade 9 attend. The students at Vittra Väsby are part of an age-integrated work team. Each work team is led by a team leader who is also part of the school's management group. Each student belongs to a responsibility group with an assigned responsible teacher, and the responsibility group meets their responsible teacher daily during a gathering. The purpose of the gatherings is to create conditions for close relationships, conscious learning, and a courageous culture.
