About the Job
We are now looking for a support assistant who wants to help create a safe and meaningful everyday life for our tenants at Fjällängen.
Fjällängen is a housing facility with special services (BmSs) focusing on autism and intellectual disabilities.
At Fjällängen, 6 adults with physical, mental, and cognitive disabilities live, with a wide range of social skills and autism spectrum variations. Tenants receive support around the clock based on their different needs.
It is important to create security in the housing for the tenants and to avoid unnecessary stress as it can affect the support and interaction with the tenants. The tenants are our focus, and we work in a low-arousal manner, treating them with respect.
The methods we use in our work include clear pedagogical approaches and alternative augmentative communication. Several of our tenants do not have verbal language. Visual support is used to increase users' participation and self-determination in their daily lives. With a clear environment, we support tenants in sorting impressions. Clear pedagogical methods involve answering questions and providing responses to make the day understandable, manageable, and meaningful.
Your responsibilities include being a contact person. It also involves establishing implementation plans together with the tenant and educator, as well as documenting your work.
Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends. We base our schedule on the tenants' needs and need to adapt working hours accordingly.
About You
We are looking for someone with a degree from the Health and Care Program, Support Assistant Training, or the Child and Leisure Program with a focus on social and pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a specialization in the disability field that includes at least 200 YH credits, 120 university credits, or 60 university credits with two years of work experience with people with disabilities. The courses should be in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education deemed equivalent by the employer. If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1, you may be offered to take a language test through the test user Educateit. Experience and good ability to work with social documentation are also required.
It is a requirement that you have several years of experience with intellectual disabilities and autism, as well as experience working with AAC.
It is advantageous if you have practical knowledge of LAB (low-arousal approach), ESL (An Independent Life), Clear Pedagogy, IBIC (Individual Needs in Focus), and MI (Motivational Interviewing). It is also advantageous if you are a competent swimmer as we have swimming as a regular activity every week.
You who apply take responsibility for both your own and shared tasks and always keep those we serve in focus. You drive your development by learning new things, coming up with ideas, and actively following the world around you. You collaborate well by listening, showing respect, and working towards achieving our common mission.
Welcome with your application!
