JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Correctional Officer at the Probation Service in Visby, you will be responsible for staffing the reception. When working in the reception, your primary task is to manage the entry and exit of visitors to the probation service. You will also be responsible for maintaining order in the waiting room, monitoring the visiting department via cameras, and performing certain administrative tasks such as mail handling, orders, and access management.

As a Correctional Officer, you will also perform simpler probation tasks such as checking completed community service hours and managing electronic monitoring systems. A significant part of the job also involves security work.

Working at the Probation Service means you will meet many people. Therefore, it is important that you have social skills and can engage with different individuals. The role involves varying work pace, as there may be quieter periods and times when there is more to do. You need to be able to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.

QUALIFICATIONS

To fit the role, we see that you have good collaboration skills and a pedagogical approach. It is crucial for the position that you are stable and flexible in changing circumstances. It is also important that you have a good ability to handle stressful situations. Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities and suitability.

A prerequisite for the position is that you share the fundamental values of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service regarding a belief in people's willingness and ability to develop and change.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Work experience, including seasonal work, part-time employment, or self-employment. Internships and volunteer work are not considered equivalent to employment.
• Completed high school education or other education combined with work experience deemed relevant by the Swedish Prison and Probation Service.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.
• Good computer skills.

It is advantageous if you have:

• Approved high school diploma or other education combined with relevant work experience that the employer deems equivalent.
• Work experience in social work.
• Good administrative skills.
• Work experience in similar reception work.
• Work experience from the Swedish Prison and Probation Service.
• Administrative system competence.
• Taken individual courses at, for example, university that the employer deems relevant for the position.
