As a lathe operator, you will be part of a dedicated team in Valmet's Fiber Service Workshop, where the activities include washing, blasting, disassembly/assembly, welding, and machining. Here you will have the opportunity to develop in a role with great variety and responsibility.

About the Position

As a lathe operator, you will work with a four-axis X.Y.Z.C lathe, equipped with drives, rotating tools, angle heads, and Siemens 840D SL control system. With the support of EdgeCam, you will program and handle large and complex workpieces with high tolerance requirements. A crane is used for the movement of the workpieces.

Your Responsibilities Include:

• Material allocation and measurement of workpieces in the machine
• Perform independent measurements of details to ensure quality
• Establish and fill in measurement protocols
• Perform basic operator maintenance

In this role, you will have significant responsibility for allocating, measuring, machining, and quality-checking the workpieces – always focusing on precision and quality. Collaboration, communication, and understanding of material and product flows are crucial in this role. You will be an important part of a shift team of two to three people and work closely with other departments, production engineers, and the maintenance department.

Who Are You?

We are looking for someone who has:

• Technical education / workshop training focused on machining or equivalent education or experience (green card).
• Basic knowledge of reading technical drawings
• Knowledge of CNC technology (preferably Siemens 840D)
• Experience working with CNC, preferably turning, for at least 5 years
• Experience in turning heavy components
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
• Driver's license B and crane license
