Region Västernorrland is one of five areas in the country authorized to provide National Highly Specialized Care (NHV) for severe eating disorders. This form of care combines inpatient treatment with a smaller portion of outpatient care and is located at Sundsvall Hospital. The care is complex and requires a multidisciplinary team, and we collaborate with other NHV units on research and development.

The purpose of highly specialized care is for the provider to maintain and offer expertise within the entire multidisciplinary team, have the opportunity to develop and maintain a good quality of care without limiting accessibility. We have a close collaboration with other operations within regional psychiatry and habilitation in Region Västernorrland and primarily respond to the need for highly specialized care in the entire northern region. NHV in Sundsvall also offers other specialized care for severe eating disorders, which includes care for elite athletes with eating disorders.

We are now looking for a senior physician for NHV in Sundsvall. The position is a permanent full-time employment with a start date to be agreed upon.

We are looking for someone who wants to contribute to the continued development of our operations. Here, there are opportunities to explore new treatment methods and expand diagnostics for eating disorders. The main responsibilities include patient care, which means being responsible for medical investigation, assessment, and treatment of patients. Tasks such as supervision, referral management, and contact with the Social Insurance Agency are also included in the position. The research group, Magnus Sjögren research lab, is part of the Department of Clinical Science at Umeå University and is located at NHV Eating Disorders and the Psychiatric Clinic at the Regional Hospital in Sundsvall. The research group collaborates with Karolinska Institute, Umeå University, University of Southern Denmark, University of Copenhagen, and several other universities. Currently, there are 2 doctoral students in the group. The research and doctoral education take place with the support of Umeå University and the Research and Development Unit at the Regional Hospital in Sundsvall, which has the important resources and infrastructure required (administration, doctoral education programs, servers/IT systems, statisticians) to carry out doctoral projects and research within psychiatry.

We are looking for someone who

• Is a licensed physician with specialist competence in psychiatry
• Has language skills in Swedish in speech and writing at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale
• Has 3 years of clinical full-time service after obtaining specialist competence

• Have a defined medical responsibility or area of expertise
• Have teaching and/or supervision experience
• Have leadership and administrative experience/training
• Have defended a doctoral thesis with active research in a relevant field
• Have other meritorious research qualifications
