ABOUT THE JOB

We are now looking for a chef for meal service.

Meal service is responsible for the food in preschools, schools, and kitchens within elderly care in Lycksele municipality. At meal service, we strive to prepare as much food as possible from scratch, and our primary goal is for the food to taste good and be nutritious. Another important task is to establish good eating habits and ensure that the meal provides an opportunity for relaxation.

Meal service has about 50 employees distributed across approximately 17 kitchens and reception kitchens. In each production kitchen, chefs and kitchen assistants work together. The number of portions prepared is about 3000 per day. The central kitchen at Tannbergsskolan is located in central Lycksele and prepares about 2500 portions daily for schools and preschools. On-site, there is a high school with about 400 students who are served lunch. Forsdalaköket prepares food for care and support users, about 200 portions using cook and chill technique.

As a chef in meal service, you will work in a team with other chefs and kitchen assistants. Together, we work according to the operational goals, frameworks, and routines of the nutrition unit. Daily tasks in our production kitchen include placing orders, working with planning/materials in the meal planning system MASHIE, meal preparation, dishwashing, cleaning, and documentation of self-control based on HACCP in Antiximex webax.

YOUR PROFILE

We are looking for someone who is passionate about preparing good and nutritious food for our guests/customers within the municipal operations. To be considered for the position, you need to be a trained chef or have experience/competence that the employer can assess as equivalent. A valid driver's license (B) and driving experience are also required. It is important that you master Swedish in both speech and writing.

To succeed in the role, you need to be able to work flexibly, as well as work both independently and in a team. It is also important that you are meticulous and follow the hygiene routines in the kitchen.
