First and last impression

As a receptionist, you are the first and last person our guests meet - it is up to you to ensure that guests have the best possible experience while staying with us, from booking all the way to follow-up. Our guests should feel at home, and therefore your personality and social skills are the most important - you must love meeting new people every day and be able to provide the best possible service based on their needs.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is driven and curious, who is not afraid to share themselves and loves to work both in a team and independently. You are proactive and aware that the small details are important for the whole. You are not afraid to juggle many tasks and can easily prioritize under stress. Since our guests during the summer are largely foreign tourists, you need to communicate fluently in both spoken and written Swedish and English. We place great emphasis on personality, engagement, and drive - so even if you have not worked in a hotel before - do not hesitate to apply if you think you would fit in! The position requires you to be at least 20 years old, according to current legislation for serving responsibilities.

It is also advantageous if you:

• Have experience in hotels and/or reception work or other service professions (e.g., retail or restaurant).

• Have experience with the hotel system MEWS.

• Are computer literate and accustomed to working with technical solutions and systems.

• Have experience with Strawberry or Home Hotel.

• Have local knowledge of Karlskrona and surrounding areas.

• Speak more languages than Swedish and English.

Your role as a receptionist

You will be part of a close-knit reception team where we constantly work closely together to develop our operations, ourselves, and our guest interactions. Your tasks will include checking in and out guests, as well as administration, customer service, answering phone calls and emails, and of course taking care of our guests on-site based on their needs and wishes. The position may also be combined with work in other hotel departments, such as housekeeping, the bar, breakfast, or dishwashing. You will be based in the reception, which is the heart of the hotel and the hub of operations, so you are responsible for ensuring that our guests receive the best possible service and that our colleagues in other departments have the information they need to do the same.

About the position

The position is a summer temporary position at 50% that runs from mid-June to early September. Working hours will be scheduled for both daytime, evening, and weekends. You will, of course, receive thorough and well-structured training and orientation before starting. Therefore, you need to be available from the end of May/beginning of June. We are covered by the collective agreement of the Hotel and Restaurant Workers' Union, and salary will be set accordingly.
