Meal Service

Meal Service is an operation within Uppsala Municipality that runs restaurants in preschools, schools, high schools, senior restaurants, and delivers meals to residents within care and nursing services. Every day we serve 45,000 meals and continuously develop our operations to stay at the forefront. Meal Service has been nominated and competed in several competitions in public gastronomy with excellent placements as a result.

Job Description

As a meal assistant, you will plan, prepare, and cook salads for the preschool's children and adults according to Meal Service guidelines. Your tasks include preparing vegetables, setting up for serving, preparing snacks and breakfast, and being available for guests during lunch. You should be able to present the food and salad buffet and know the ingredients in the food and report them so that guests with allergies receive safe and good food. The work also includes cleaning and disinfecting utensils, machines, and surfaces, replenishing dishes, cutlery, glasses, and napkins.

Your tasks will also include:

• Working with HACCP

• Preparing salads
• Serving food
• Preparing snacks

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with at least a high school education or training in food. The position requires computer skills and prior knowledge of ordering systems. You need previous experience from kitchens and restaurants. Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, is desirable. A B driver's license is an advantage.

You are a confident person who dares to act based on your convictions. You easily adapt when circumstances change and see opportunities in new situations. In collaboration with others, you are attentive, flexible, and communicative, and you contribute to solving challenges constructively. You approach both colleagues and guests with calmness, attention, and a genuine desire to help. Additionally, you plan and organize your work efficiently and adhere to set deadlines with good structure.
