The Building and Environment Department of Krokom Municipality is seeking an engaged and development-oriented alcohol and tobacco officer, with partial duties as a food inspector.

The Building and Environment Committee is responsible for local government operations in Krokom Municipality according to, among other things, the Environmental Code, the Planning and Building Act, the Food Act, the Alcohol Act, and the Tobacco Act and similar products.

The Building and Environment Department is part of the Municipal Executive Administration and has the main task of supporting the committee in its work. We have seven building inspectors, five environmental and health protection inspectors, one food inspector, one alcohol and tobacco officer, as well as three administrators, one business developer, and one unit manager.

The Municipal Executive Administration supports three committees; the Municipal Executive Board, the Building and Environment Committee, and the Community Building Committee. The administration employs about 135 staff and is divided into areas of staff, building and environment, and community building and growth.

A Day as an Alcohol and Tobacco Officer at the Building and Environment Department

Your tasks include handling supervision and assessment, mainly within the area of alcohol and tobacco legislation but also to some extent within the area of food legislation. You handle service cases in the form of inquiries from individuals and collaborative cases in contact with authorities, other administrations, and colleagues. System management, as well as planning, follow-up, and development work are also part of your responsibilities.

The work is varied and involves many contacts with municipal residents and entrepreneurs, as well as with politicians and other officials in the municipality.

Your Competence

An academic education as an environmental and health protection inspector, or other education that we assess as equivalent, is a requirement for the position. A driver's license is also a requirement for the position.

Knowledge and experience of government operations, especially with a focus on the current job description, are meritorious.

We are looking for someone who is service-oriented and has a desire to develop yourself within your work area. You have an easy time collaborating but also the ability to work independently. You can plan and prioritize your tasks. You can express yourself well in Swedish in both speech and writing, and you have good computer skills and an ease in handling administrative systems.

Additional Information

Permanent full-time employment with start date by agreement.

In Krokom Municipality, full-time is the norm and part-time is an option.
