Are you interested in working with assessment and supervision to protect valuable natural environments?

You will be placed in the unit for nature conservation and supervision, which belongs to the nature department.

The unit consists of 21 employees. The unit's tasks include assessment and supervision within nature conservation and water activities based on the provisions of the Environmental Code. The unit's mission also includes protecting and preserving the most valuable natural environments in Jönköping County as well as protecting drinking water. You will be part of a workgroup of five people.

Job Responsibilities

With us, you will have a varied job where you, together with the workgroup, will work with assessment and supervision of valuable natural environments and species. This includes, for example, shore protection, biotope protection, nature reserves, and species protection. The work involves assessing the impact on natural environments and species and writing decisions in accordance with applicable legislation and practice. The work is independent as you are responsible for driving your cases forward, while it is also teamwork where you together in the workgroup work to solve your tasks. In this position, you will have many contacts with private individuals, companies, and municipalities.

The tasks are varied as you handle many different types of cases and contribute your expertise broadly within the County Administrative Board's area of activity. The focus of the position will be adapted according to your competencies and preferences. Fieldwork is a natural part of the job, but work in front of the computer and in the office predominates.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • relevant scientific education with a focus on nature conservation or has achieved equivalent competence in another way
  • good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish
  • driver's license (B)

It is advantageous if you have:

  • experience of authority exercise within the public sector
  • knowledge of environmental law/Environmental Code
  • experience of supervision and/or assessment according to the Environmental Code
  • experience of/knowledge about nature value assessments

As you will be responsible for your own cases, it is important that you can independently drive them forward. You enjoy contributing your knowledge and helping other colleagues inside and outside your workgroup. To function well in the role of nature conservation officer, you need to be structured and have the ability to make correct assessments and judgments. You need to have the ability to combine clear authority exercise with a constructive dialogue where you adapt your communication for different target groups.

Conditions

The position is full-time and is a temporary position. The temporary position extends until 2026-12-31. Start date as soon as possible by agreement.
