About Us at the Community Building Department

The Community Building Department is tasked with making Aneby Municipality attractive, sustainable, and safe – and to contribute to the municipality's continued growth in a sustainable and inclusive manner. We value collaboration, a broad range of skills, and that everyone contributes to the whole.

We are a smaller organization, which means short decision-making paths, good opportunities to influence, and close contact with colleagues, managers, and politicians. Here, we help each other and take joint responsibility for developing the municipality and our operations.

The department works broadly within the community building area – from comprehensive and detailed planning to environmental and health protection, food, nature issues, energy and climate advice, mapping and GIS, rescue services, and safety issues.

Your Assignment

As a food and environmental inspector with us, you will have a varied and socially important task where you:

• Plan and conduct inspections of food businesses
• Conduct supervision according to the Environmental Code
• Carry out alcohol and tobacco supervision
• Document, follow up, and charge for conducted supervision
• Handle complaints, reports, and environmental accidents
• Provide advice and service to business operators and municipal residents
• Contribute to project-oriented work, including through Environmental Cooperation in Jönköping County
• May participate in the municipality's overarching strategic environmental work

In a smaller municipality like Aneby, the role means that you work in most areas encompassed by environmental and health protection work, giving you a broad and developing role. You will meet engaged colleagues, and tasks are distributed based on competence, interest, and the needs of the operations.

Qualifications

In addition to the above, we are looking for someone who has:

• University education in environmental and health protection, food areas, or another relevant field
• Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing
• A developed ability to work independently, structure, and drive your work forward
• Interest in working with many different issues and areas of work
• Ability to create good relationships and provide a safe response
• Driving license B

It is an advantage if you have experience from municipal operations or have previously worked broadly within the environmental and health protection area.
