Business and Development Manager – a Key Role in the Municipality's Development

The Municipal Executive Administration has a collective responsibility to lead, manage, monitor, and support the municipality's committees and operations. Here, there are several strategic functions such as finance, HR, and administration – as well as the Business and Development Department (NLU), which has a special mission to drive the municipality's development forward. Lekeberg Municipality has about 650 permanent employees.

Job Responsibilities

As the Business and Development Manager, you play a key role in the municipality's future work. You drive development initiatives, strengthen dialogue with citizens and businesses, and contribute to creating good conditions for collaboration between the municipality and entrepreneurs. With a clear service focus, you convert needs into concrete development that makes a difference – for both the business community and the municipality as a whole. As the Business and Development Manager, you report directly to the municipal manager and are part of the municipal management team. You have overall responsibility for the Business and Development Department, which includes operations, employees, finances, and work environment.

Central aspects of the role include:

  • Driving digitization and automation of the municipality's processes
  • Developing modern and accessible digital services
  • Leading municipality-wide business development and change work
  • Ensuring that development projects are carried out with a clear results focus
  • Strengthening quality and legal certainty in the municipality's working methods
  • Developing and deepening dialogue with the business community
  • Representing the municipality in networks and strategic collaborations
  • Monitoring trends in innovation, digitization, and societal development
  • Supporting municipal management in strategic development and investigation issues

Through clear and engaging leadership, you create conditions for the department to contribute to the municipality's long-term goals and development.

Qualifications

We are looking for an experienced and committed leader. To succeed in this role, you should be a confident and experienced manager with a strong commitment to society and a clear ability to translate strategic goals into concrete results. You work in a structured manner, are attentive and communicative in your leadership, and have a good ability to create engagement and collaboration. You navigate effortlessly between politics, operations, and external collaborations, and have experience in driving business development in project form. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

You meet the following requirements:

  • A relevant academic education or equivalent experience
  • Documented experience in leading business development and change work
  • Several years of experience in management roles with personnel, budget, and work environment responsibilities
  • Experience working in a politically governed organization
  • Excellent ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing
  • Valid driver's license (B)
