We are looking for a dedicated park worker for the season at the Park and Nature Conservation Unit.

In our unit, we are a total of 15 employees who are committed to creating pleasant, safe, and diverse green environments for recreation and play.

The Park and Nature Conservation Unit is one of ten units in the Community Environment and Infrastructure Department. Other operational units in the department include Water and Sewage, Property, Outdoor Environment, Streets, Cleaning, Waste and Recycling, as well as support functions such as Community Building Services and Building Permits and Geodata.

The Park and Nature Conservation Unit is responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining the municipality's parks, squares, natural areas, nature reserves, and recreational areas. We have a citizen focus in everything we do. The unit consists of park workers, nature conservationists, gardeners, a unit manager, team leaders, and a landscape architect.

About the Position

You will be part of a group of 7 employees and a team leader. As a park worker, you will take care of the maintenance of green public environments such as parks and nearby nature in the municipality. There will also be collaborations with the group working on nature conservation.

You will work outdoors throughout the season with varying tasks. Your work will include mowing with riding lawnmowers, trimming grass, weeding, combating invasive plants, watering, emptying trash bins, and litter picking.

At the Park and Nature Conservation Unit, we work together to develop our operations. With us, you will find a stimulating workplace with good colleagues where you as an employee have the opportunity to grow and take responsibility.

We work Monday to Thursday, from 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM, and Fridays from 6:30 AM to 1:00 PM or 2:00 PM. Some scheduled weekend work may occur.

The position is a fixed-term full-time employment with a desired start date in April 2026 until October 2026 or as agreed.

Who Are You?

We are looking for someone with a strong interest in practical work with ongoing maintenance and care of park and nature environments.

As a person, you are responsible, self-driven, and structured. You are practically oriented and flexible as tasks may change at short notice. It is important that you can build trust in your interactions with our residents and visitors; therefore, you enjoy meeting people and providing good service. Since we work in a team, it is important that you thrive in collaboration, you are unpretentious and contribute to a good atmosphere in the group while also being able to work independently.

You have good experience working with digital tools as we use the reporting system Artvise and mapping tools for maintenance maps.

The work requires physical mobility for outdoor work in terrain.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Competence Requirements

• Driving license B

Meritorious

• Previous experience working with maintenance and care of park environments
• Post-secondary education in park maintenance or similar
• Chainsaw A, B, C
• Driving license BE
• Work on the road 1.1-1.3
• Experience supervising playgrounds
